The Blue Eye is an amazing natural wonder. This natural spring is typically about 10 degrees celsius year round. Its cool waters and shady grounds that surround the spring make for a refreshing spot to break from the usually warm days. Although it is possible to take a quick plunge into the water, dipping more than a foot is all one can handle.

Try tossing a stone in to only see it reappear after a short while instead. This area is well conserved because during the communist era only the “privileged” were allowed to explore. Today, you can expect this visit to be a quick stop or drive-by as you make your way out of Saranda to Gjirokastra or vice versa.
