Butrint National Park is considered to be the “Gem of the Country”. Historically, Butrint was the ancient city founded after the Fall of Troy, thus referred to as “Miniature Troy”.' Today, Butrint is the most visited site in the country and one of the most self sustaining models in the region. We are thrilled to share with you the intimate details in how the park was established and the work the efforts put forth in creating it as a Unesco World Heritage Site and Ramsar protected area. You will awe with the magnitude of the theater, stroll through what was once one of the largest Basilicas in the Balkans. Surrounded by the Vivari channel with a panoramic view of the sea is nothing short of breathless. This magnificent landscape and rich natural environment provides for one of the richest sites for biodiversity in all of Albania. The tour will take you through the city of Butrint allowing you to admire the monuments of many different civilizations. Your guided walking tour will continue onto the Acropolis overlooking the site, as well as a short visit to the Museum. Round off your tour with some free time to visit the handicraft shop and enjoy the local cafe near the site. Arrival from Port of Saranda. Upon arrival, your guide will be at the port to assist with clearance formalities. Private Transfer to the park. Tour of the Ancient site. Transfer back to port for return departure. There is over 1 hour of walking on this tour over some stones, steps and inclines. Comfortable walking shoes, a hat and water are recommended. Season All year round. Duration One day tour.
